Social Responsibility

At Altshuler Shaham, we regard community outreach as an inseparable part of our corporate DNA and its guiding principles

Championing community outreach as a key value, investment house Altshuler Shaham is considered one of the greatest contributors to the community in Israel’s business sector. According to the firm’s owners’ worldview and the company’s values, social responsibility is a key part of the corporate DNA and its guiding principles.

Altshuler Shaham’s social involvement takes place on two levels:

  1. Supporting third sector entities through donations, donations in kind (equipment) and cooperation, with emphasis on three main issues: children and teenagers, education and sports.
  2. Our employee volunteering project - As Factor - in which employees volunteer in a variety of areas. As Factor was launched in 2014. Employees were offered six NGOs to choose from, with each of the five owners serving as a leading mentor for one of the NGOs. The projects focus on children, education and sports. As part of the project, each employee volunteers in an NGO of his/her choice once every two weeks, for three hours, for an entire year, during work hours. This year, a sixth NGO joined the project.

This social responsibility approach is also reflected in the Company’s vision, which guides its community outreach efforts: With our employees, we are committed to social, educational and environmental responsibility - in order to create a better present for all of us and a better future for our children, through a variety of educational activities, in areas in which we can assist disadvantaged populations.

With the help of our employees, we are committed to social, educational and environmental responsibility, in order to create a better present for all of us and a better future for our children, through a variety of educational activities, in areas in which we can assist disadvantaged populations.

The annual donations budget is approved a year in advance by a designated steering committee.
